Julia Love Underhill was born August 3, 1839 in Seneca, Ohio to Louisa (Clark) and James Underhill. The Underhill family moved to Algansee Township in Branch County, and on June 15, 1869, Julia married Edwin McNitt. Julia and her husband lived in Elkhart, Indiana before moving back to Branch County. Her father first located on the farm where Edwin and Julia lived. Four children were born to the marriage of Julia and Edwin. Julia was 68 years of age at the time of death on June 5, 1908 in Ovid Township.
