Homer Index, Feb 28, 1900. Obituary - Mrs. Lucetta Blodgett.The death of Mrs. Blodgett, which occured Feb. 20, has takenaway one more of the early settlers in this vicinity. A few days before her death she fell and was severely injured, and following that is thought she suffered a stroke of paralysis which caused her death two days later. Mrs. Blodgett was born June 14, 1825, at Virgil, NY. In June 1838, with her parents she came to Michigan and settled in Clarendon. She was married to her first husband, Mr. John Norrett, Feb. 14, 1843. Three children were born to them, all of whom died in early life. Mr. Norrett died Dec. 21, 1851. On Nov. 1, 1852, Mrs. Norrett was married to Mr. Joseph F. Blodgett, who survives her. Her loss is deeply lamented by both family and friends. She was a most estimable woman and had lived a very useful life. Her religious convictions and associations were with the Methodist Church. The funeral took place at her late home on Thursday. Rev. H.E.Davis officiating, and the remains were buried in the cemetery at Bentley Corners.
