Seymour P Snyder, of Co. A, enrolled Aug. 25, 1861 in Angola by Capt. Kinney as a Private; mustered in Sep. 25, 1861 in Ft. Wayne by Maj. Carpenter at age 18. He was 5Œ 8 tall, fair complexion, grey eyes, and light hair. Born Nov. 24, 1845 in Trumbull Co., OH, employed as a laborer, single, resident of Angola, in Steuben Co., IN. Mustered out at the end of the war Sep. 14, 1865 in Nashville, TN with rank of 1st Sergeant. Notes: Actual age was 15 at muster in; son of Lewis and Sarah Snyder. Sick in quarters Jan.-Feb. 1862. Promoted Corporal Jan. 1, 1864. Reenlisted Jan. 1, 1864. Promoted Sergeant Mar. 24, 1865; 1st Sergeant Apr. 24, 1865. On leave Jun. 27, 1865. Married Elizabeth Swain 1866 in Branch Co., MI. He filed Invalid Pension Application to receive Pension Certificate #395269 Jan. 7, 1886. Resident of MI 1880. Died Mar. 18, 1888; buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Sec. B/Grave 12/Lot 95, Coldwater, Branch Co., MI.
