Amanda was born in Kolby to parents Gustav Jacobsson or Sundquist and Sofia, maiden name unknown. She married Jakob Forsman in Finland. They had one son born in Finland, then her husband emigrated to the United States. She followed with the son in 1892. They had six more children all born in Negaunee, Michigan. After her husband's death in 1911 she married Oscar Karl Dahlquist October 25, 1919 in Negaunee, Michigan. She died as a result of a skull fracture when she accidently fell down the basement stairs. She is buried with her first husband under the Forsman name. Her second husband is buried with his first wife.
