Retired Roman Catholic priest Brewer passed away at age 91 at Marquette General Hospital after collapsing at his home. It was Easter Sunday afternoon.
12/07/1943 he was ordained to the priesthood for the Diocese of Marquette at St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette by Bishop Francis J. Magner. He received his seminary studies at Kenrick Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri and St. Francis Seminary in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Father Brewer's priestly assignments included: Associate Pastor at Immaculate Conception Parish, Iron Mountain, St. Ambrose Parish, Ironwood and St. Paul Parish, Negaunee; Parochial Administrator of Immaculate Conception Parish, Moran and St. Andrew Parish, Nahma; Pastor of St. Rita Parish, Trenary, St. Cecilia Parish, Hubbell, St. Mary Parish, Hermansville with the Mission at Faithhorn, St. Barbara's Parish, Vulcan, St. Augustine Parish, Republic, St. Ann Parish, Baraga and Sacred Heart Parish, Schaffer; Chaplain at the Bishop Noa Home for Senior Citizens, Escanaba.
07/17/1984 Fr. Brewer retired from active priestly ministry.
